I would say you have a defective tank sender unit. The tank electric fuel pump and instrument sender is a combined unit. If the unit is faulty or the electrical wiring to the unit is damaged then not only will the gauges be all over the place, the fuel pump won't be working. Quote. Then, use a small screwdriver to make a minor gap at the top/centre of the dials and insert a small strip of plastic about 15cm long. cut the lid of a container into a strip or similar. you'll see/feel it click at some point and it I have a mk4 mondeo titanium x 2008 and the radio etc keeps switching itself on and off, also the ac and climate controls go off, some times the radio will switch itself on when i lock the door, can't use sat nav, cd or phone hands free.Please can you tell me if this is a case of replacing the whole radio unit or a problem with the cpu or what? Spray at least 10 spurts of MAF cleaner onto the sensor and then let it air dry for an hour or until completely dry. Do not use cloth or cotton swabs to clean the sensor, as it can damage it.
